Boys Hired Hotel Rooms To Have Sex With Girls With At Least One Who Was Raped Underage

Police have uncovered evidence suggesting that an immigrant gang of 17 teenagers who sexually abused a 12-year-old girl in Austria likely targeted other victims.

The suspects, aged between 14 and 19, reportedly met at Antonsplatz in Vienna, Austria, where they would book hostel rooms for EUR 56 (GBP 47) a night and rape the unnamed victim.

Apart from hotels, the abuse also took place in toilets, garages, and in their homes, between February and June 2023, according to Florian Finda, deputy director of the Vienna Police.

Reportedly of Turkish, Serbian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, Italian, and Syrian origin, the suspects would then exchange photos and clips of the girl via Snapchat, boasting about the act.

They had threatened to share the pornographic material if she ever told someone.

Some of the photos reportedly showed the girl lying unconscious on the floor in an intoxicated state.

Now, after examining two of the offenders’ phones, police revealed that two other girls are believed to have been targeted as victims by the same group.

A forensic expert involved in the investigation said: “When examining the two smartphones available, it was primarily determined that it was apparently the modus operandi of several young people to rent hotel rooms and have sexual intercourse with female minors – sometimes several of them.”

Public prosecutor Nina Bussek confirmed the case and said: “There are videos of consensual sexual intercourse with two girls where we don’t know who they are.

“We have asked the police to investigate them in order to determine their age.”

If these girls also turn out to be underage, it will be classified as rape as they cannot consent.

The suspects currently remain at large as investigators do not perceive the likelihood of them committing the offense again.

The girl’s lawyer Sascha Flat, 45, said: “However, this assessment can still change.

“Based on the current investigation results, I hope that the public prosecutor’s office will once again consider imposing pre-trial detention on the perpetrators.”

The case was uncovered in October 2023, after the young girl, now aged 13, told her mother about the abuse who then filed a complaint.

Police discovered that the girl was introduced to the group through one of the suspects, whom she was dating at the time.

The investigation continues.
